All our furniture is made from natural wood and accordingly appearances may vary. Some woods will mellow with age and exposure to sunlight. All the oak furniture we make is unique and handmade to order. Therefore colouring and grain patterns will vary from piece to piece, with no two pieces being exactly the same. Consequently, we cannot guarantee any replication of colour from piece to piece.

In addition to knots and cracks naturally occurring naturally within your timber, a further level of cracking also known as drying shakesン may occur. This is perfectly normal. the ageing process has begun and the character of your handmade piece of furniture is forming.

Solid Oak is affected by heat and moisture. A warm, dry environment will cause Oak to shrink, whilst a cold, moist environment will cause it to swell. Your new piece of furniture will benefit greatly by placing it in a position in a room well away from localised extremes of temperature, for example next to a radiator or exposed to direct sunlight.

Knots, cracks, drying shakes and movement are inherent characteristics of natural wood and are NOT CONSIDERED A FAULT in the wood or our workmanship. After installation, small cracks can occasionally occur, a few millimetres in width, this is entirely normal and is regarded as part of the natural beauty of the timber. These cracks will not affect the integrity of the furniture in any way. These cracks and movements do not constitute any fault with the timber or in its construction. Timber is a natural product and will move/change over time. Our furniture may contain knots and variation in grain pattern, as well as small shakes (slight cracks which are a natural element of the timber). However, these minor flaws will not impair the performance of your furniture. Whilst all our timber has been correctly dried, movement in solid wood cannot be prevented.

If any goods ordered by you arrives damaged or is not of acceptable quality, you may have the goods repaired or replaced or to receive a refund of the price paid by you for the goods.
